June 2011 - From the Heart of A Cowgirl
Rebecca Hampton

June has been busy and hot. Our first vacation bible school was such a blessing. We had
25 children ages 5 to 12 and it was wonderful to see the cowboy kids minister to them. JR
did the horsemanship in the round pen, Ava taught the song and dance, Angie taught crafts
and I was privileged to do the bible study. Thank God for Julie Graves! She volunteered
to do snacks and photography. We would have died without her. I didn't ask her she just
told me she was coming and thank God she did. All the older children helped out with the
little ones and the horses. I realized we needed more helpers with the little ones. We
learned a lot from this VBS and our next one will be even better.

We broke our record this year. We only taught 2 vacation bible schools. The other one
was for my home church, Foothills Community Church. We always have a great time
there and the cowboy kids look forward to teaching the songs and dance.

We were asked to be the guest on the TV show "Friends and Neighbors" and what a great
time we had. The cowboy kids were so excited and really enjoyed seeing the TV station.
We finished off with lunch at McDonald's. I think we are the only people that spend
$50.00 at McDonald's and we eat off the $1 menu. It was a great day and the kids really
enjoyed getting out of Jerusalem.

The kids have been working with the horses and the flags and hopefully we will have a
drill team together soon. We're trying to get our herd of horses so that they'll all carry
flags. We have recued about 10 horses in all. We try them out to see if their safe for the
kids. If we can use them, we keep them and if we can't, we place them with people who
can use them. It is very rewarding to see these horses gain weight or lose weight what
ever is the case. The boys can trim their hooves and help out in this area. We have helped
a lot of horses and a lot of them we still have.

We could never do this with out the help of our neighbors. They let us use their pastures
to place horses in and Johnathan Bennett has been wonderful to provide us with hay when
we need it. We are truly blessed as we try to rescue children and horses and put them together
to help each other and it works.
Keep us in your prayers as we continue to provide a safe place for boy and girls to come
to, take the church of Jesus Christ to the people and rescue God's creatures that need a
helping hand.

One day we will ride with Him in white...
